CG Schmidt’s concrete team at Bucyrus International recently exceeded all expectations when they poured a “super-flat” floor in July of this year. Their pour benchmark, as designated by the American Concrete Institute, was set at FF60/FL50. CG Schmidt crews achieved a rating of FF115/FL108, which is much higher than the benchmark. It was critical to achieve this level of flatness because of the types of machinery that would be placed on these new foundations.

The South of Rawson project scope consisted of a series of building additions, combined with existing building renovations and strategic demolition to accommodate expanded machining and warehouse space. Additions totaled 189,820 square feet and renovations totaled 98,780 square feet.
