Muskego-Norway School District Middle & Elementary Schools

CG Schmidt played a pivotal role in the Muskego-Norway School District’s extensive facilities improvement efforts, which were driven by a Long Range Facility Master Plan developed after a thorough examination of district-wide instructional and facility needs. The plan proposed a new “3-2-1” school organization, comprising three elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.

In 2016, the District passed a facilities improvement referendum to support this vision, which included the construction of a new 800-student middle school. The new middle school features expansive classrooms designed for 21st-century learning, specialized STEM spaces, and a full range of athletic facilities.

In addition to the new middle school, CG Schmidt guided comprehensive renovations and additions at all three elementary schools, focusing on improvements in safety and security with new building entrances, infrastructure upgrades, building system enhancements, and the expansion of classrooms. Further upgrades were made to parking lots and traffic flow, and a new gymnasium was added to the district’s facilities.

The total area of the completed project spans 1,595,523 square feet, ensuring that the District’s educational facilities are better equipped to serve future generations of students.

Community Engagement
As part of the project, CG Schmidt facilitated a robust community engagement plan, providing branding and messaging support, communication planning, graphic design, and outreach assistance, ensuring that the voices of all stakeholders were heard throughout the process.
