DAILY REPORTER NAMES TWO CG SCHMIDT EMPLOYEES “NEWSMAKERS OF THE YEAR”
The Daily Reporter’s “Newsmakers of the Year” awards recognize the industry’s top construction, design, engineering and development professionals throughout Wisconsin. Judged by a panel of experts, the Newsmakers are those who have not just excelled at their duties, but have gone beyond them to position themselves and the company’s for which they work as the best in the industry. CG Schmidt is proud to have two of our employees — Brian Medina, Senior MEP / VDC Manager, and Tom Pagel, Senior Project Manager — recognized as 2020 Newsmakers of the Year. They join the ranks of a number of their CG Schmidt coworkers to have received the honor in previous years. Congratulations, Brian and Tom!
BRIAN MEDINA – Innovator of the Year
As the Senior MEP/VDC manager at CG Schmidt, Brian leads our in-house MEP/VDC team and uses his expertise to shorten schedules and provide significant cost savings to CG Schmidt projects. Since joining CG Schmidt in 2017, Brian has quickly made his mark on CG Schmidt’s operations, building a skilled team of in-house MEP and VDC experts and integrating BIM throughout all levels of the company in creative and unique ways. Brian’s work as part of our preconstruction team has led to a drastic reduction in system design clashes, installation errors and lost-time activities related to MEPs.
TOM PAGEL – Project Manager of the Year
CG Schmidt’s go-to large project leader, Tom Pagel, LEED AP, Senior Project Manager, has been a valued employee for over 16 years, building more than a few of the company’s highest profile projects in Southeastern Wisconsin.. His construction project leadership includes the expansive Columbia St. Mary’s Eastside Medical Complex Redevelopment, the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex, Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons, Advocate Aurora 84 South Health Center, and is currently managing the Landmark Credit Union Headquarters project.
