What is Viewaukee?
CG Schmidt is proud to sponsor Viewaukee, a new and innovative program from the Milwaukee County Historical Society. This fun and interactive exhibit invites residents and visitors to look into Milwaukee’s past — literally. Positioned at 10 key locations throughout the city, these custom street-mounted binoculars let viewers see images of that spot as it would have appeared decades before, showing just how our city has grown throughout the years.
CG Schmidt is partnering with the Historical Society to bring this gift to the community in celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary. Several of the viewers are located near projects that CG Schmidt has built. In addition, we have selected a number of photos of these iconic projects during construction from our private archives to view on our website. You can find each of those locations below. Enjoy!
